January Jones sexy for Versace

Mad Men star January Jones looks absolutely stunning as she poses naked for Versace's new campaign to showcase their handbags, shoes and sunglasses. The images were captured by Mario Testino.
Dontella Versace said that "she [January] is chic and elegant but deeply sensual too - it is a dramatic combination."

Style Swan: Nicola Roberts

Known as the 'ugly one', Nicola Roberts came into our lives as an awkward overly-tanned teenager on Popstars: The Rivals. She won the show in 2002 along with Cheryl Cole, Nadine Coyle, Sarah Harding and Kimberly Walsh to be part of the band Girls Aloud; with her band-mates, she went on to have a successful career in the music charts. Nicola has also co-written tracks for Girls Aloud.
Since then Nicola has become a star in her right. After becoming known for her fair skin and red hair, she vowed never to use tanning products again and developed her own make-up rage - especially for fair skin: Dainty Doll. She has also became a favourite on the fashion scene, regularly in fashion magazines and at the front row of fashion shows and always in incredibly fashion forward outfits. Nicola was recently rewarded for her fashion efforts at the Cosmopolitan Women of the Year Awards, where she received the well-deserved Ultimate Fashionista.

Miss Selfridge Limited Edition...

Miss Selfridge is one of my favourite high-street stores for it's on trend and vintage style clothing.  Recently they launched their Limited Edition rage as part of their Christmas Shop. The collection is full of beautiful and intricately embellished pieces, faux-fur and timeless styles. The dresses echo the classic 20's style, whilst the crystal and studded detail on the accessories add a modern edge to the looks; the coats are mimics of traditional designs.
The collection starts from £20 and from £70 for dresses.
Miss Selfridge have really out done themselves this year, the collection is absolutely stunning.

Mad for January...

The formal model and star of Mad Men January Jones has been confirmed as the new face of Versace. January will follow in Georgia May Jagger's footsteps as the face of Versace's Spring/Summer 2010 collection.
January struck up a friendship with Dontella Versace on a shoot for US Elle and has since been sat front row at the Versace show at Milan Fashion Week and wore a Versace dress to the 2010 Emmy Awards; the two fashionistas also hosted a charitable dinner to celebrate the Central Saint Martains 20-20 fund. Mario Testino will shoot the campaign once again. With January Jone's stunning looks and Versace's clothes, this is no doubt going to be an amazing shoot!

Crop it...

So it's getting really cold now and if you don't already have a coat, why the heck not?!
The winter trends this year have been pretty amazing what with the  chunky knits, outsiders fashion, aviator look etc.
But the winter trend that caught my eye recently is the cropped coat, it's a cool modern twist on a basic item and I love it!!
Ok, so there probably not the warmest coats ever, but how awesome are they?

If I could, I would have these in my winter wardrobe:

Clockwise: Stella McCartney | Proenza Schouler | Marc by Marc Jacobs | 3.1 Philip Lim | Stella McCartney | Matthew Williamson

The Ice Queen: Anna Wintour

I know she is perceived as a super bitch but she also has the job that most fashionistas dream of. She has been editor-in-chief of American Vogue for nearly 30 years. She is known for her trademark sunglasses and bob that she has has since she was 14 years old.
After joining the magazine Wintour began to stir things up with new ideas. She suggested that covers feature the models body as well rather than the tight head shots that were used before. She also mixed less expensive clothes with high-end fashion. The magazine cover on the left was Wintour's first. The model is wearing $50 jeans and a $10,000 top from Christian Larcoix; it was the first Vogue cover to feature jeans. Wintour's decisions received mixed reactions from big players in the industry but Wintour wanted to show the way real women put together clothes (however I don't know any 'real' women that own $10,000 t-shirts...).
Anna Winotur's role in the magazine has changed the shape of the fashion industry we know today and has made her the most powerful person in fashion; now who wouldn't want to be her?

Style Crush: Eva Mendes

Eva Mendes is probably one of the most gorgeous women around today. At 36 the Hollywood scarlet has already won us over with films such as Hitch and The Spirit, as well as her flawless style and elegance. Eva always looks classy and sexy at the same time, with minimal jewellery but beautiful gowns that do all the talking. Recently on the red carpet she's been seen in 50's styled dresses, which are absolutely adorable and totally on trend with the 50's midi-skirt at an all-time hight this year!

These are some of my favouirte Eva looks this year:

Mind the Gap...

This year the gap-toothed pout has been gracing the pages of fashion magazines more than ever. Models such as Georgia Jagger, Jess Hart and Lara Stone, who was on the cover of October's British Vogue, have turned an 'imperfection' into fashions most sought after look this year. The Guardian recently reported that demand for orthodontic procedures to create gaps in teeth have increased as 'unusual' and 'unconventional' beauty has become a major trend

Night of Stars Awards

On the 28th the most fashionable came out in the masses to watch Nicholas Ghesquière receive the prestigious Superstar Award at the Fashion International Groups Night of Stars awards ceremony in New York.
The 'Globalists' themed gala sparkled as prominent players in the fashion industry such as Anna Wintour and Grace Coddington turned up, as well as Hollywood favourites: Olivia Palermo, Kate Bosworth and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Shoe Porn...

Shoes are a staple part of any girls wardrobe, they complete any outfit.

Coke the Largefeld Way...

Pepsi and 7-Up eat your heart out, Coke Light is officially the coolest fizzy drink!

The new bottle designed by Karl Largerfeld is definitely the most fashion-forward fizzy drink to hit our stores since forever! The new advertisements feature the lovely Coco Rocha, who is dressed  typical Largerfeld fashion in black and white with the fingerless gloves. Largerfeld's favourite male model Baptiste Giacobini is also in the adverts; the ads were shot by the design genius himself.
The bottle comes in a limited edition box with a bottle-opener hidden in a draw. The bottle itself is simply decorated with Largerfeld's silhouette on a white background.
The bottles can be purchased in the US from Colettes for $4.50.

The Fabulous Olivia Palermo

Olivia Palermo first came into our lives starring in The Hills spin-off The City with Whitney Port. The socialite, who now does PR for fashion label Diane Von Furstenberg, has since become one of the world's most watched fashionistas. Her look is very fashion forward and she always looks effortlessly chic, which I so envy!
This year Palermo launched a jewellery collection, collaborating with Roberta Freymann and became a committed charity worker as a member of Operation Smile and New Yorker's For Children.

Some Much Love For Erdem

In July 2009 I went to see Erdem's show and the V&A museum, so now he's a huge star in the fashion industry, I feel privileged to say I saw his show when he was up-and-coming.
Erdem is only 31 and already has a prestigious British Fashion Council Award under his belt. He grew up in Montreal, and after working with Vivienne Westwood he fell in love with fashion.
Now I think that he's one of the best designers of today, his designs are so unique and absolutely beautiful! He describes his designs as "colour, optimism and oddities", quite perfectly summed up i think...

These are some of the pieces from his S/S 2011 pre-collection, it's stunning! The floral maxi is my favourite, I love print and how elegant it looks.

I intend to have a wardrobe full of his clothes, then I'll be a very happy girl!

Shearling Jacket: Best Trend of the A/W Season?

This seasons trends have been pretty awesome; tailoring, cigarette pants, the cape etcbut the aviator shearling jacket is definitely the best so far. It should be on the top of every fashionistas wish-list as it's perfect for any chic/sophisticated look, paired with a crisp white shirt or a pair of tailored trousers.
I've seen some of the best shearling jackets in Burberry Prorsum, the jacket in the photo shown is selling o net-a-porter for £1,895; so i guess I'll be popping down to Topshop for the closest thing...

If the S/S trends are as good as this seasons I cant bloody wait!

Avedon's Wonder Portraits

So, for my photography homework we had to research a photographer and write about them and their work. I decided to research Richard Avedon, who is probably one of the most famous and influential fashion photographers ever. Avedon's technique was to talk to his subjects about uncomfortable, funny or sad topics to capture their true emotions. These are some of my favourites:

Avedon was well known for his portraits of famous people and his fashion photography, however, later on his career Avedon began to branch out and started photographing mental institutes, the civil rights movement, protesters of the Vietnam War and the fall of the Berlin Wall.

His photos are definitely inspirational, check out his website: www.richardavedon.com, his photos are so stunning, totally worth a look.

London Fashion Weekend 2010

Well, basically, as I was watching the fashion show at this years London Fashion Weekend, I decided it would be super cool to be a blogger about the things that I love most: fashion and art, so here I am!

So, this is the second time I've been to London Fashion Weekend, and I just love it, not only can you get fabulous discounted designer clothes but you get to watch a catwalk show complete with two designer collections (this year Ashley Isham and BodyAmr showcased there amazing collections) and two trends (this year it was Nomad, which was all about layers, and Kramer vs. Kramer, inspired by the film for a 70's chic look), where a mixture of designer pieces are put together to create two of this seasons must-do trends.
This year I when with two of my favourite people, my mum and my sister. After a bit of a shop, we went and saw the show and then afterwards, we enjoyed a drink at the Chambord Bar. Overall a fab day out and I totally recommend it to everyone!
